“Firefly Field” spreads a gentle shimmer of floating lights across the Roman Amphitheatre of Arezzo, creating a calm, dreamlike scene within one of the city’s oldest public spaces. Built in the 2nd century CE, the amphitheatre once hosted crowds for games and performances, a hub of civic life in Roman Aretium. Now, the artwork replaces those ancient spectacles with a quiet field of glowing points, inviting visitors to experience the historic arena not through noise and spectacle, but through stillness, reflection, and a renewed sense of wonder.
